Stress is now an inseparable part of our lives. Although we know how negative effects it has on the functioning of the whole organism, it is impossible to avoid it. Work, numerous responsibilities, problems and the ever-increasing pace of life are only a few causes of stress. How to deal with it?

In order to reduce stress every day we should find at least a moment to relax, rest or just do something that gives us pleasure. It is easy to say, but harder to do, especially if we have a lot of responsibilities and problems on our mind. That’s why it’s a good idea to start by introducing products to your diet, which will allow us to cope with the negative effects of stress. Moreover, they will allow us to relax faster, fall asleep and nourish our body. What products are worth introducing to your menu?

Pumpkin seeds, hazelnuts, Brazil nuts, walnuts and sunflower seeds. Thanks to their high magnesium content they can quickly cope with irritability, fatigue or depression. They also work well in the case of unbearable PMS, because they relieve stress and mood swings. It is especially worth introducing walnuts to your diet, which additionally contain omega-3 fatty acids that help memory, concentration, and also take care of our youthful appearance.

When it comes to brain work, almonds will also be helpful due to their high content of L-phenylalanine. That’s why they are recommended especially for students who need to assimilate a lot of material. If stress excessively increases your blood pressure it is worth adding a little pistachio to your diet.

In states of increased effort and stress it is worth eating more forest fruits, especially berries. They contain a lot of antioxidants which eliminate the negative effects of oxidative stress and have a positive influence on our appearance. Blackcurrants, on the other hand, in addition to antioxidants, also contain a lot of vitamin C, which is great for supporting immunity.

It is also worth introducing to your diet grapefruits, raspberries and strawberries, which contain little sugar, and improve mood, reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer or diabetes. In addition, they contain a huge amount of vitamins: A, C, B and E.

When it comes to vegetables that will help you in the fight against stress, undoubtedly helpful can be tomatoes rich in potassium, chard – magnesium and vitamin C, asparagus and avocado – vitamin B, as well as celery, carrots and lettuce.

Don’t forget eggs, which are a rich source of vitamin D and B12. Both not only benefit our mood by regulating dopamine in the brain, but counteract depression or help with chronic fatigue.
